The OCR World Championships released breaking news at 8:00am this morning. OCRWC is disqualifying a 2017 participant due to "violating anti-doping policy". Ryan Woods becomes the first OCR competitor in history to be DQ'd at any obstacle race for this reason.

Ryan's 3rd place, 15k finish is off the record books for OCRWC 2017. In addition, his team had won the OCRWC Sunday team relay. That team of Woods, Ryan Atkins and Hunter McIntyre, is now also disqualified.

We got a hold of both of Ryan's teammates as soon as possible.

Ryan Atkins told us:

There aren’t many people I’ve met who have been as genuine, nice and just generally “good” as Ryan Woods. I believe he made an honest mistake and hope he remains as a competitor in the sport.

We reached Hunter McIntyre via text who said:

I like Ryan for his personality, not his body. Also Ryan and I shared a bed after Tougher Mudder Championship. It was a very pleasant experience.
