Episode 122 - Evan Dollard had a very direct approach to getting on American Ninja Warrior. He sent them tape of his role as TV's "Rocket" from American Gladiators. Evan talks about working with icons like Dan "Nitro" Clark and The Hulkster, on the reboot of that famous show. Evan also explains why he thinks the new version of American Gladiators died an early death. Right in the middle of the interview, Evan delivers what would be the perfect ending, but unfortunately, Matt still needed to ask him about American Ninja Warrior. So there's 20 more good minutes on ANW. Enjoy. Today's episode is sponsored by BattleFrog Series, Savage Race, and The Udder Mud Run. Show Notes: |

Episode 120 - Before Amelia. Before Pak. Before Olof Dallner, Shelly Koenig, or Mark Webb. There was Stefanie Bishop. Stefanie was the overall winner of the Peak Races Winter Snowshoe "Death Division" in March of 2010. A few months later it was renamed the Death Race, and she was the first female finisher for the Summer version. (Joe Decker was the first male and overall winner). Much like another endurance champ, Mark Jones, Stefanie would also go on to complete the 2nd ever Spartan Race in Brooklyn, NY and the first ever Tough Mudder in Pennsylvania, all in 2010. In this interview Matt talks to Stefanie about those early adventurous beginnings, why she disappeared for a couple of years, and why she’s back. She just received another skull at the Mexico Death Race and then won the brand new Gauntlet in Macon, Georgia, the very next weekend. We also get her first hand account of this year’s Winter Tough Guy and why it was her first DNF. Oh, and they talk about ice cream. You also may hear Matt’s children in the background as this interview was recorded in his home office. Today’s episode is sponsored by: Down and Dirty Obstacle Race and Rugged Maniac. Episode 119 - Today’s first interview is with Scott Keneally. For those that don’t know, Scott broke the story that rocked OCR back in November of 2012 about the history of Tough Mudder. A few months later, he parlayed that into a piece about OCR for 60 Minutes Sports. Since then, he has been hard at work at producing Rise Of The Sufferfests, a documentary which examines OCR as a whole, and what it says about our culture.
The 2nd interview is with Julia Webb. We talked to her shortly after she placed third at the Warrior Dash World Championships (WDWC) back in October. Julia discussed why she signed up for WDWC, setting baby stroller running records, and her OCR plans for the future.

Episode 118 - Today’ episode is with two guys named Dr. Bob.
The first, Dr. Bob Dalton, owns Highlands Chiropractic. We sat down over some noodles for this talk a few weeks ago. This Dr Bob came highly recommended from several people when I told them about the debilitating pain I was experiencing while running. He has extremely unconventional methods that get phenomenal results. Some patients have seen him for 20 plus years and many drive an hour or more to his office which is walk in only (no appointments). We have a great chat about running, his interesting methods, why people see him when everything else fails, and much more.
The second interview is with Doctor Robert Pruni. He has been on American Ninja Warrior on two seasons and owns NinjaKour, a massive warehouse converted to a crossfit gym and ANW obstacle playhouse. We talk about how he trains, his advice for getting on ANW, and what cross fitters need to un-learn when they want to become Ninjas. He also treated some big rock stars back in the day so we touch on that.
